13-15: distance, flowers and cowboy boots

I enjoyed a lovely weekend camping with the fam. We hiked, played Catchphrase and Yahtzee, read in the sunshine and shade, ate amazing camping food, roasted marshmallows over an open fire, and watched the night sky for shooting stars and satellites.

We camp way out of the range of cellphone/Internet service. So, I haven't been able to post my photos -- but I did take them throughout my weekend. Time to play catch-up!

Day 13: From a Distance

Saturday morning I woke up early enough to snap photos of the sun rising over the ridge across the lake. Baby ducks swam by with their mom, fog lifted from the meadow, critters began waking up and filling with air with sounds of chirps and buzzes.


Day 14: Flowers

Flowers I spotted during a short hike. This weekend, the wildflowers were positively breathtaking; their beautiful colors spanned the entire rainbow. I'm not sure what these little guys are called, but they look like small, purple daisies...


Day 15: My Shoes

I don't like to play favorites with my shoes, but these boots rate pretty darn high. I found them at a discount store in San Francisco, and I think I paid like $5 for them. I believe that may qualify as one of the very best purchases I've made. After a long day, they can be pretty difficult to remove -- it can get pretty comical -- but I love them anyway.
