Music has a funny way of lifting you up, uncannily reflecting your feelings when you're down, and seeping into the most mundane bits of everyday life.
Growing up in a very musical family -- my dad and brother are musicians and my parents always had tunes drifting about our home -- I feel like I both appreciate and depend on music that much more, like I subconsciously forge an emotional connection to the music. Certain songs evoke vivid memories or emotions. New songs sometimes reflect a new chapter in life or open your eyes to something new-to-you.
